Madison
Atrium of Wisconsin State BarLouis Wasserman & Associates were the
design architects and landplanners for
this new headquarters for the Wisconsin
State Bar. Working with a design build
team of Bauer Raether and HSR Associates,
this building was designed to accommodate
the Bar’s dynamic program of office,
continuing legal education, conferencing,
publications and printing needs while
maximizing daylighting benefits. Site
planning included designing for arrival
sequence, and future expansion of the
200+ parking spaces, along with optimum
daylighting and energy savings within
campus guidelines.
Working with nationally recognized
daylighting consultant Gregg Ander, our
office was awarded research funding
through a Grant from the Renewable Energy
Assistance Program to use the Bar
Association as a demonstration site. This
research was compiled in "Commercial
Applications of Daylighting" and provides
history, site, landscape and
architectural guidelines.
